1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using AnkiBoss (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

AnkiBoss provides AI-powered medical education tools including: an Anki add-on for term explanations, USMLE-style practice question generation, document-to-flashcard conversion, and performance analytics.

3. Accounts

  • You must provide a valid email address to register.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
  • You must be at least 18 years old or have parental consent to use the Service.
  • One account per person. Shared accounts may be terminated.

4. Subscriptions & Billing

  • Free accounts have limited features as described on our pricing page.
  • Paid subscriptions are billed monthly or annually through Stripe.
  • You may cancel at any time. Access continues until the end of the current billing period.
  • Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact support@ankiboss.com.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose
  • Attempt to circumvent rate limits, access controls, or billing
  • Upload malicious files or attempt to compromise the Service
  • Redistribute generated content commercially without permission
  • Use automated tools to scrape or bulk-download content

6. Content & Intellectual Property

  • Documents you upload remain your property. We process them only to generate flashcards.
  • Generated flashcards and explanations are for your personal educational use.
  • The AnkiBoss name, logo, and website design are our intellectual property.
  • The Anki add-on is distributed under the terms of its license file.

7. Medical Disclaimer

AnkiBoss is an educational tool, not a medical device. Content generated by AI may contain errors. Do not use AnkiBoss content for clinical decision-making. Always verify medical information against authoritative sources (UpToDate, First Aid, Pathoma, etc.). We are not responsible for decisions made based on our content.

8. AI-Generated Content

Explanations, practice questions, and flashcards are generated using AI (Anthropic Claude). While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated content may occasionally be incorrect, outdated, or incomplete. Use it as a study aid alongside established resources, not as a sole source of truth.

9. Availability & Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, AnkiBoss shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to exam outcomes.

11. Account Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time from your dashboard. Upon deletion, all your data is permanently removed.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance. We will notify registered users of significant changes via email.
